24+8 Roulette Strategy — Step-by-Step, Maths & Real Risks (UK Guide)

The 24+8 strategy covers two dozens completely (24 numbers) and then adds eight single numbers in the middle dozen. On a single-zero wheel you’ll see: 8 winning results (your singles), 24 break-even results (your dozens), and 5 full losses (the four uncovered numbers in the middle dozen plus zero). It’s a grinder: lots of neutral spins, small step-ups when a single lands, and the occasional miss that wipes out a couple of wins. Below is the clean setup, clear staking, images, and bank rules to keep control.

How to Place the 24+8 Layout (Images)

Step 1 — Cover 1st and 3rd dozens fully (24 numbers)
Step 1: Bet the 1st Dozen (1–12) and the 3rd Dozen (25–36) — 24 numbers total.
Step 2 — Add 8 single numbers in the middle dozen
Step 2: In the middle dozen (13–24), choose any 8 singles. Leave 4 numbers uncovered (plus 0).

Tip: Spread your eight singles across the middle dozen. It doesn’t change the odds, but it avoids visual clumping.

Rules (24+8, Single-Zero)

  1. Bet one amount on the 1st Dozen and the same amount on the 3rd Dozen.
  2. Add 8 single-number bets in the middle dozen (13–24).
  3. Spin. A single is a profit, a dozen is break-even, an uncovered number or 0 is a full loss.
  4. Repeat with the same layout, or rotate which eight singles you cover in the middle dozen.
French advantage: on even-money bets (not where we make profit here), La Partage halves the loss on 0. Singles aren’t affected, but French tables still give the best overall value.

Correct Staking (Break-Even Dozens)

Size your bets so that a dozen hit doesn’t cost you anything:

  • Whatever chip you put on each single, make each dozen eight times that chip.
  • That way, when a dozen wins at 2:1, the payout on the dozen covers the losing dozen and the eight singles — leaving you even.
  • Total stake per spin is 24 times your single-chip size (8 singles + two dozens that are 8× each).

Example: Singles £1 each → each dozen £8 → total stake £24. A single hit nets +£12. An uncovered pocket or 0 is −£24.

Probabilities & Outcomes (European Wheel)

Outcome Pockets Chance Typical Result*
Single-number hit (middle dozen) 8 8/37 ≈ 21.62% +12 per single chip (e.g., +£12 if singles are £1)
Dozen hit (1st or 3rd) 24 24/37 ≈ 64.86% Break-even
Uncovered (4 middle numbers + 0) 5 5/37 ≈ 13.51% −24 per single chip (e.g., −£24 if singles are £1)

*This assumes you’ve set each dozen to eight times your single-chip size so dozen hits break even.

Short Walkthrough (s = £1 → d = £8 → total stake = £24)

  1. Spin 1: Dozen hit → break even.
  2. Spin 2: Single hit → +£12 net.
  3. Spin 3: Single hit → +£24 total session.
  4. Spin 4: Uncovered pocket (or 0) → −£24 → back to £0 overall.

Typical flow: many neutral spins, a +£12 when a single lands, and the occasional −£24 that cancels two wins. Over time, results drift toward the house edge (~2.70%).

24+8 vs £150 Strategy (Same Logic, Different Stakes)

  • Same layout idea: 2 dozens + singles in the remaining dozen.
  • £150 version uses bigger dozens and 10 singles → higher stake, larger swings.
  • 24+8 scales it down → easier on smaller bankrolls and great for testing.

Bankroll & Limits

  • Keep your single chip at roughly 2–3% of the session bank (e.g., £1 on a £50–£100 test).
  • Use time gates (10–20 spins), a stop-win (+20–30%), and a stop-loss (−20%).
  • Prefer single-zero wheels; avoid double-zero.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Clear plan: dozens break even, singles make the profit.
  • High “not losing” rate per spin (≈86.5% win or neutral).
  • Good fit for short, structured sessions.

Cons

  • One uncovered hit (or 0) wipes out about two single wins.
  • Over long play, the wheel edge wins; this is not a long-term earner.
  • Singles take focus; a missed click can ruin the break-even plan.

Try 24+8 — With Discipline

Set your sizes correctly (each dozen eight times a single). Keep sessions short and bank the spikes. If you hit an uncovered number, don’t chase — reset or stop.

24+8 Strategy — FAQs

What is the exact coverage with 24+8?

On a single-zero wheel: two full dozens (24 numbers) plus eight singles in the middle dozen = 32 covered. Uncovered: 5 pockets (four in the middle dozen plus 0).

What are the probabilities?

Singles ≈ 21.62% • Dozens ≈ 64.86% • Full loss ≈ 13.51%.

What staking keeps dozens break-even?

Make each dozen eight times the chip you use on a single. Then a dozen hit breaks even; a single hit pays about twelve times that chip in net profit.

Can I use this on American (00) wheels?

It works, but the edge is worse. Stick to single-zero where possible.

Is this better than the £150 strategy?

Same concept, smaller stakes. 24+8 is better for testing and modest banks; £150 hits harder and swings more.
